UKRAINIAN PAVILION AT EPCOT'S MILLENNIUM CELEBRATION

Ukrainians from all over the world are excited about the opportunity to have Ukraine represented at EPCOT's Millennium Celebration. Disney would not only like to see the country of Ukraine represented at this Millennium Celebration, but they have also expressed interest in having a permanent structure built at EPCOT based on the success of this temporary pavilion. Of all the Slavic nations, there is perhaps no greater example of explosive growth potential and intellectual excellence than Ukraine. And as Disney turns its focus on the countries that will provide hope for a better world, Ukraine would be an ideal choice.

        I. Millennium Celebration / Dates

From October of 1999 until January of 2001, the EPCOT theme park in Lake Buena Vista, Florida will be hosting a huge Millennium Celebration with the edu-tainment theme of  “Hope For A Better World”.

Joining the current display of countries in EPCOT’s World Showcase will be dozens of new pavilions that will celebrate the culture of that nation.   Each display will feature pavilions (approximately 3000 square feet) that will showcase the many different aspects of each culture that support the overall theme.  This might include food, dancers, artisans, audio-visual displays, architectural displays, interactive displays, etc.  Disney would not only like to see the country of Ukraine represented at this Millennium Celebration, but they have also expressed interest in having a permanent structure built at EPCOT based on the success of this temporary pavilion.

        II. Unprecedented Opportunity

This is an amazing opportunity for the country of Ukraine, the people of Ukraine, and Ukrainians all over the world to be able to partner with Disney in promoting Ukrainian awareness.

        III. Projected Cost Range

The cost of this pavilion is variable according to the complexity and quantity of its content.  The costs are broken into three categories:

        a) (FLEXIBLE) The cost of the design & construction of the 3000 square foot pavilion structure. Our cost is estimated from between 250K – 700K.
        b) (FLEXIBLE) The cost of staffing the pavilion for 15 months (Disney will provide housing). Our cost is estimated from between 250K-500K.
        c) (NOT FLEXIBLE) 700K  for the lease of the property for 15 months.

        IV. Sponsors

This pavilion can be sponsored in two basic ways:

        1.   A direct sponsorship with the Walt Disney Company.  The important thing to note with this type of sponsorship is that the sponsor(s) will NOT be able to receive a tax deduction from this type of sponsorship.

        2.   A tax-deductible donation to Ukrainian Project Fund.  Ukrainian Project Fund (UPF) is a non-profit organization that we began in 1993 to promote Ukrainian awareness.  UPF is NOT interested in “controlling” the funds that will build this pavilion – all sponsor(s) will be able to structure this agreement so that they control all of their own funds.  We are willing to allow anyone that is interested in sponsoring this pavilion to make all of the legal and financial arrangements on THEIR OWN terms in conjunction with receiving a tax deduction via UPF.  We only wish to make UPF available to be used as a viable tax exemption vehicle.  We are open to any ideas or suggestions that may best enable us to make this pavilion a reality.

        V. Benefits

Sponsor(s) of the Ukrainian pavilion will receive Partnership with the Walt Disney Company including all advertising coverage for the Millennium Celebration. Full marketing rights to "Exclusive sponsor - EPCOT Millennium Celebration".  As many as 500 million people will be exposed to this pavilion through visiting EPCOT and viewing the pavilion on international television programs.  All maintenance costs, housing for staff, utilities, phone access and tax fees are gratis for the 15 months of the Millennium Celebration.  The sponsor will receive 150 one day EPCOT park passes.   The sponsor will receive passes for VIP areas, special invitations to grand opening press event - including lodging and meals, special VIP events.  Other benefits as negotiated per contract.

Ukrainians from all over the world will receive the benefit of Ukrainian culture being spotlighted in front of nearly one tenth of the worlds population.

        VI. Potential Sponsors to date

        (deleted for privacy)

        VII. Time Frame

By 30 April, 1998, the Walt Disney Company must have a Letter of Intent to Sponsor and a total of $40,000 (non-refundable) from all corporations and/or individuals that will be sponsoring these pavilions (note: this is $40,000 in total - not $40,000 each).  Our sponsor(s) must be identified by this time - with all monies that will sponsor the pavilion made accountable.   It is important to note that the payment for this pavilion may be broken up into incremental payments over a pre-determined span of time - Disney does not require one lump sum up front.  All design, construction and negotiation of content for the Ukrainian pavilion must be completed by October of 1999.

        VIII. Invitation

I am personally inviting each individual that is seriously considering significant co-sponsorship to come to Walt Disney World , at my own expense, to meet with EPCOT Vice President George Kalogridis and myself in order to better understand this sponsorship opportunity.  If you have not seen EPCOT before, I cannot express to you how important it would be for you to see the opportunity that awaits the country of Ukraine.  I would like to personally answer your questions and take you on a brief tour of some of the Walt Disney properties. If you are not able to come to Disney, I would like to have the opportunity to meet with you at your location.
